Biography

Nicholas Schroeck is Interim Dean of the 91´«Ã½ School of Law. Dean Schroeck is a sought-after environmental law expert. His research and clinic casework focuses on reducing air and water pollution, working towards environmental justice, promoting mass transportation, and advancing citizen suit enforcement of our environmental laws. In addition to his role as Associate Dean overseeing the 91´«Ã½ Law clinical and externship programs, he directs the environmental law clinic and teaches upper-level environmental law courses. Previously, Dean Schroeck served as Executive Director of the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center and was on the faculty at Wayne State University Law School where he directed the Transnational Environmental Law Clinic and taught Environmental Law. Dean Schroeck has litigated cases for prominent environmental advocacy organizations and his policy advocacy has led to strengthened local, state and federal environmental protections. 

Professor Schroeck joined the 91´«Ã½ Law Faculty in 2018 as the Director of Clinical Programs and Associate Professor of Law. He was appointed Associate Dean of Experiential Education in 2019. He was named Interim Dean as of June 2024. 

Dean Schroeck and his wife Liz enjoy gardening, travel and craft cidermaking.
