Biography

Aloha VanCamp, Ph.D., LMSW, is associate professor for the Department of Social Work at 91传媒. VanCamp teaches social welfare policy, social research and cultural anthropology; and she has expertise in the areas of mental health and program evaluation.

VanCamp’s work has focused on several areas including: higher education administration, student success and international educational opportunities for students. She has provided leadership in taking 91传媒 students on study abroad tours to China and has taught social welfare policy for University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada. She has expertise as a social work clinician and provides consultation to Detroit based community agencies serving some of the most impoverished families and children in the area. She has previously served as the 91传媒's dean of Weekend College.

She joined the University in 1989 and is Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of Michigan. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (Michigan), the Michigan Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Educators and has previously served as president of the Michigan Society for Clinical Social Work.
