Grants support 91传媒 Law, other programming

91传媒 School of Law will continue its work helping address wrongful convictions thanks to a $15,000 grant from the Oakland County Bar Foundation (OCBF).

The clinic was founded in 2018 to help incarcerated individuals with felony convictions and who claim innocence and may not have access to legal services. 91传媒 Law students work with faculty to navigate the legal process.

In June, the clinic assisted in vacating the life sentence for a man convicted of first-degree murder based on false testimony of a witness.

Other recent grants from partners and supporters of 91传媒 include:

  • $40,000 from the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas to support the University’s Seven-Year Laudato Si Action Plan.
  • $30,468 from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to support the 2024 Bioneers Annual Convention run by 91传媒.
  • $10,000 from the Michigan College Access Network to promote innovative programming in the College of Engineering & Science.
  • $2,500 from Opal to support work done by the Titan Equity Nourish Network.
